Be a Doer!

Text: Ezekiel 33:31-32
Intro: The children of Israel came to Ezekiel the prophet. They sat before him and listened to his words. Ezekiel’s words were to them as a lovely song sung by a person with a beautiful voice. However, the words they heard from Ezekiel made no difference in their lives. It was all for show. It was just entertainment to them. They were the spectators watching Ezekiel do his performance.
They would not do his words. It’s always easier to be a spectator than a Doer.
Examples of those who hear but not been the Doer:
King Agrippa in (Acts 26) was happy to hear Paul Preach to him but he wasn’t willing to take action on what he heard.
Mark 6:20 tells us that King Herod was glad to hear John the Baptist Preach, yet, he didn’t do what he was told to do.
Turn to James chapter 1 (Read vs 22-25)
God doesn’t want us to be hearers only, He wants us to be doers.
God wants us to take action.
My message this morning is” Be a Doer “
I want to give you two important truth about the Doer.

  1. Doers Take Action
James 4:17 “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not to him it is sin. Don’t just go to church to listen to preaching be the Doer of the word. Don’t just read the Bible, but be a Doer of what you read.
    2) Doers Receive the rewards.
In 1 Corinthians 3 we read about the judgment seat of Christ a judgement for believers.
As Believers our works will be tried to see of what sort they are. Verse 14 says ” if any man’s Work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward”.
One day the LORD will reward us for what we did for Him.
He will reward for our works. Those who DO God’s will, will receive the reward.
Jesus said in Revelation 22:12, “And, behold, I come quickly and my reward is with me to give every man according as his work shall be*
Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
God is a good rewarder, He will reward those who DO the works He ordained for them to do.
Conclusion: Let”s not sit around idle while there are Souls all around us perishing! Let’s take action!. Amen
